Another BIG week covering one of the modern classics: This time, The Last of Us!
Originally released on the PS3 towards the end of it’s lifecycle, remastered for the PS4 in glorious HD textures and lighting, The Last of Us casts us as a man struggling to survive in a post-apocalyptic world where humanity can only coexist with the ever-present threat of death. What would life be like if the cordyceps fungi, known for “brainwashing” insects, could infect humans’ minds too? But like the Walking Dead series, some of the biggest dangers in this world come from within as well as without…
Joel and Ellie’s relationship over a year or so’s time is really a highlight in this one, as is the really engaging gameplay that always makes you feel like you’re threatened by an unseen enemy. You really never know when you’ll be attacked next.
And what an outstanding soundtrack by Gustavo Santaolalla. Seriously, click on all these tunes and really take a listen to the gorgeous ambient mixture with classical guitar. It is something so special to this game. Hope you enjoyed the show!
