LISTEN TO THE FULL SHOW (sans music) HERE!
Wassup folks! Sorry I’ve been lagging a bit with these posts. I think this weekend will be a productive one and I’ll hustle to get everything updated playlist-wise (and some of the podcasts too!).
I decided to celebrate the start of Season 2 of LAG with a full month of horror games. Dubbed “Spooktober”, we started off the series strong with Akira Yamaoka and Konami’s outstanding series of ambient terror, Silent Hill 4: The Room.
All in all, this was a tough one to get through due to how damn scary it was at times, but also because those controls/camera though :X Though as I mention in the episode, it could be argued that it was intentional in order to make the game more anxiety-inducing. There were certainly times I was like “NO WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS HENRY, STOP IT PLZ”.
If there’s anything to take away into the future from this run through though, it has GOT to be the soundtrack. I’ve been listening to it for years, completely separate from the game, and it is just an amazing release. All the ambient, industrial stuff, all the vocal-infused gorgeousness from Mary Elisabeth McGlynn. It’s perfection. Hope you enjoyed the playlist for the week, as well as all the chiptune goodness you know we love to deliver!
